5 things you need to know about Flame's Golf & Networking Day

1. Know the courses and holes

Golf Course Spaarnwoude is the biggest golf course of the Netherlands and the biggest of continental Europe. With 5 courses and 66 holes in total, there's a lot to get your head around. The E course is the oldest of all the courses and, according to the members is the most beautiful, particularly E5. However, not all the holes are pretty; hole E9 (stroke index 1) has been recently renovated and risen the ranks to become the hardest holes of all. It has a small lake in front of the green and has a very narrow fairway which makes it hard. The green is situated higher than the fairway which makes it difficult to measure the distance so for the experienced players, we will challenge you to hitting the ball over the lake on hole E5. The golf club would be happy to hear from the few who manage!

2. Raise your handicap

With a minimum handicap of 54, you will need to make sure you're fit to play and compete against some of the best business golfers in the industry.

3. Come dressed to impress

Be prepared - wear a polo or golf clothes, and don't forget your golf shoes and equipment (although you can rent from the in-house shop).

4. Keep your eyes peeled for wildlife

These are lots of bird species on the course. A kingfisher was spotted last week, which is very special for a course so close to the airport.

5. Enjoy life after golf

Once you have finished your round of golf we suggest you make a b-line for the newly-renovated restaurant. Try one of the rare Dutch beers and choose from the menu, which features local and international gourmet bites. When the weather is on your side, relax on the terrace and enjoy the Dutch outdoors.

For an opportunity to socialise with the Flame community before the event tees off in earnest, make sure your reserve your place on our Golf Day. Click here for more.
