60 seconds with... Union Asset Management's Alexander Schindler
1. What is your personal philosophy?
Be open, embrace change and go for the chances.
2. If you could do another job for just one day, what would it be?
Many years ago, I did a trip around the world on a training ship of the German Navy. To be the captain of such a ship – even for one day – would be exciting.
3. Disruption is always on the tip of everyone's tongue. In your opinion, what is going to be the ultimate game-changer for the finance industry?
Exuberant regulation has got a tremendous impact. It’s like a too tight corset taking away the breath of investors in a low yield environment. It’s up to the investment industry to help investors out of this difficult situation.
4. What's your favourite thing about Berlin?
It’s the most vivid and vital place in Germany where creative people and innovative ideas come together.
5. What are you most looking forward to at FundForum International 2017?
As the US and Europe are in a process of reorientation I’m especially looking forward to the thoughts of Anthony Gardner, former US Ambassador to the European Union.
