Meagan Caldwell, CPA is currently the Senior Director, Technical Accounting, Contract Advisory and Financial Reporting for Sumitomo Pharma America. In this role, Meagan and her Team are responsible for technical and contract accounting and advisory, financial reporting and accounting quality and integrity initiatives. This includes working with Business Development, Legal and other business partners to review and provide input on transactions we are contemplating executing, such as new in-license agreements. They perform the technical accounting analysis for the Day 1 recognition and the financial impact in future periods. They also monitor the financial status of current and future significant contract terms. Finally, her Team is responsible for the Sumitomo Pharma UK consolidated reporting package and the annual financial statements.

Prior to joining Sumitomo Pharma over a decade ago, she worked in various technical accounting and financial reporting roles including, Raytheon, the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, Waters Corporation and PricewaterhouseCoopers.

Outside of work, she enjoys running and working out. One of her core beliefs is to lead by example. She has coached soccer for her twin girls since they were in kindergarten, now freshman in high school. It is important to her that they see how leadership can impact girls at the youngest of ages and to ensure that it is a positive experience. She has volunteered as Treasurer and Vice President on a local non-profit Board, which she was involved with for over six years. She believes that involvement in your community can come in all different shapes and sizes and has tried to be a role model for her children and their friends, so that it is more natural for them to do the same.
