Profile

In her role, Melissa helps lead, direct and advise on US GAAP and Johnson & Johnson’s worldwide policies and procedures related to financial accounting and reporting. Melissa provides technical accounting guidance to significant financial transactions within the business, ensuring they are aligned with overall Company financial policies in accordance with US GAAP. Her role also advises on the proper disclosure requirements for external reporting. Given the recent regulatory focus on Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) reporting, Melissa also serves a leading role in shaping and preparing future ESG reporting for Johnson & Johnson to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.

Prior to joining Johnson & Johnson, Melissa spent eighteen years in public accounting working at EY in various roles. She spent eleven years in Houston auditing several large multinational companies in various industries and then moved to New York and completed a three-year rotation with EY’s National Accounting Office. Melissa then spent four years providing accounting advisory services to various companies.

Melissa is a CPA and graduated from Texas A&M University with a Bachelor of Business Administration and a Master of Science in Accounting. She serves on the Advisory Committee of the American Theatre Wing and is a Tony Award voter, is a member of Junior League, and a leader within J&J’s Finance Women’s Leadership & Inclusion.
