Bob Decker is the Corporate Controller & Chief Accounting Officer for Johnson & Johnson since December 2019. He is a Corporate Officer and reports directly to the Chief Financial Officer. In this role, Bob is responsible for all accounting and reporting aspects for Johnson & Johnson which include Worldwide Consolidated Financial Reporting, SEC Reporting, Tax and Employee Benefits Accounting, Governmental Reporting, and the related Financial Systems. In addition, Bob has responsibility for Corporate Operations, Global Finance Talent Management, Enterprise Technical Operations and Risk Management and Acquisition & Divestiture Operations.

Bob possesses a broad range of finance and accounting experience and brings an exemplary record of professional accomplishment in the financial field to this position. Previously, he was Vice-President, Assistant Corporate Controller where he played a key role in implementing the Controllership 2020 initiative, as well as driving process and automation improvements that have led to accelerated SEC filings for our 10Q and 10K submissions.

During Bob’s 30+ year tenure at Johnson & Johnson, he has held various positions of increasing responsibility in the Consumer, Pharmaceutical, Medical Devices and Corporate Operating Groups. He has also held CFO positions for DePuy Synthes Orthopaedics North America and Medical Devices North America, where he was responsible for providing strategic financial leadership and played a key role in integrating our Orthopaedics, Global Surgery and Cardiovascular & Specialty Solutions (CSS) businesses into One Medical Device business for Johnson & Johnson.


Bob’s financial expertise, leadership capabilities and passion for cultivating talent extend far beyond his day-to-day responsibilities. He has served as chairperson for the Operations Controllers Council, Co-Lead on the Financial Global Strategic Plan team focused on Leadership, Program Champion for the Financial Leadership Development Program (FLDP), University Team leader for the MBA Leadership Development Program (MBALDP), Group mentor for the Finance African American Leadership Council (FAALC), GFLT Co-Sponsor of the EAME Region, GFLT Sponsor of Intelligent Automation and GFLT sponsor of the Asian Finance Leadership Council (AFLC).


Bob holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from Rider University, is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and a Certified Management Accountant (CMA). Bob remains actively engaged outside of Johnson & Johnson as well, and currently serves on the Rider University Accounting Advisory Board, is a member of the Committee on Corporate Reporting (CCR) and an active member in the Pharma/Biotech and Medical Device Accounting Forums. He has also served for two terms on the Institute of Management Accountants (IMA) Board of Regents.
