The Performance: Analytics & Navigation domain delves into the pivotal role of performance management in HR, highlighting its essential connection to the broader work environment. Through the Informa HR performance framework and sustainability model, participants gain insights into various aspects of performance management, including systems thinking, data analysis, and decision-making. With a focus on honing skills for effective navigation, the domain equips HR professionals to steer their organisations towards sustainable success. Topics such as human capital reporting and data security are also covered, providing a comprehensive understanding of the modern HR landscape.

- Understand the elements and critical importance of integrated systems thinking for impactful performance management
- Understand and evaluate Informa’s HR Performance Management System/Model for sustainable HR
- Understand the foundational tools and techniques (feedback types and tools, rating scales, goals and objectives) associated with performance management
- Understand how to classify performance metrics (e.g., KPIs or OKRs) and why and how to allocate metrics into an I/O system (i.e., input, activities, outputs, outcomes)

Module 3.2 Rewards: Compensation & Benefits
The Rewards: Compensation & Benefits domain offers a comprehensive exploration of the complex dynamics of rewards management, focusing on the delicate balance between monetary and non-monetary incentives. Participants delve into the four layers of total reward management, understanding the intricate interplay between individual interests and equitable workforce practices. The domain equips professionals with the necessary skills to design and implement effective compensation systems, consider diverse benefits, and navigate the complexities of fair and value-driven rewards. By examining various case studies and industry practices, participants develop a strategic understanding of rewards management, positioning themselves as adept navigators in the realm of HR.
Learning Outcomes
- Understand and analyse the four layers of total rewards (total cash; total compensation; total remuneration; total rewards)
- Analyse and evaluate the key factors to consider when determining an organisation’s pay philosophy (AKA pay strategy)
- Understand the fundamental design process tools (e.g. job evaluation, salary surveys, grading systems, etc.) used when designing a compensation system
- Understand the key metrics or KPIs used in rewards management (e.g., compa ratios, survey benchmarking, red/green circle rates, pay equity ratios)
- Understand the most common forms of pay used when designing a compensation system (e.g., fix pay, variable pay, differential pay, etc.)
- Understand the three main types of benefits (i.e., mandatory, discretionary and post-employment)
- Understand and evaluate the differences between fairness, equity and value including how the latter impact compensation in the long run
- Understand and apply the key strategies, steps and processes when negotiating for a job
