Alberto Bacchiega

Director “Digital Platforms”, DG Competition at European Commission

An economist by training, Alberto Bacchiega joined the European Commission’s Directorate General for Competition in 2000. He has since then held several positions enforcing competition rules in the telecoms, financial, pharmaceutical, chemical and information technology sectors. He is currently leading the directorate ‘Digital Platforms’ of DG COMP, which covers also the implementation of Digital Markets Act.
