Profile
Andrea Coscelli is a senior partner and lead of Keystone’s European practice. He is a leading European expert in antitrust and competition economics. He focuses on advising companies and government bodies on merger reviews, antitrust, litigation and regulation, with a special focus on the digital economy.
Before Keystone, Andrea was the Chief Executive of the Competition & Markets Authority (CMA) for six years until July 2022, leading the organisation through significant growth following the UK exit from the EU. He served initially as the CMA’s executive board member heading the Directorate responsible for UK merger control, the markets regime and its work in regulated sectors. He joined the CMA from Ofcom (UK Communications Regulator), where he was a Director of Economic Analysis and previously worked at Charles Rivers Associates (CRA) in London, where he was a Vice President (Partner) in the Competition Practice.
He holds a PhD in Economics from Stanford University and was awarded a Commander of the British Empire (CBE) honour for services to Competitive Markets in the 2020 New Year Honours. He co-founded the Association of Competition Economics (ACE) in 2003 with John Fingleton and Patrick Rey.
