James Chamberlayne is Director of Corporate & Investment Banking at CDP, where he oversees the global Sustainable Finance Program, working with financial institutions to create innovative financial products that support real-economy transition. Previously, he led CDP's UK & Worldwide Supply Chain program, expanding into new markets and pioneering sustainable supply chain financing. Before CDP, James worked in India as Head of Sustainability within the agriculture commodities sector based in India and East Africa, designing programs for that spanned complex supply chains introducing watershed management and climate-smart agriculture that tackled social & environmental challenges, whilst recognising the business case . With lived experience from his family farm background and hands-on work across global supply chains, James specializes in sustainable & transition finance, supply chain finance, agri commodities, emissions accounting, and water stewardship, bringing a unique perspective that bridges impact with global financial markets.
