Matthew Reed is Head of Development for Sustainable Finance at the EDF Group (Électricité de France), one of the world’s largest providers of electric energy. He oversees the expansion and implementation of the Group’s strategy to finance its low-carbon energy generation, which includes €12 billion in green and social bonds and over €17 billion in sustainability-linked credit facilities. He is currently Vice Chair of Eurelectric’s Sustainable Finance Working Group and has been a member of ICMA’s Green Bond Principles Advisory Council and working groups and served as founding Secretary of the Corporate Forum on Sustainable Finance. He has lectured and spoken on sustainable finance in Europe and North America. His prior roles include overseeing EDF’s international sustainable development program and managing the development and financing of wind and solar energy projects in the US and Canada. A native of the United States, he lives in Paris France with his wife and three children.
