Sergio is a biologist and sustainable finance professional with more than 20 years of experience. He held senior roles at Brazil’s environment ministry, leading biodiversity and protected areas and raising USD 500m for national projects. Since 2017 he has focused on ESG and sustainable finance, including roles with the EU Platform on Sustainable Finance, and advisory and board positions, as well as leading Brazil’s mining sustainable finance taxonomy project. He is partner and head of sustainability at Planet First Partners.
