Mr. Jude K. Chesire is the Currently the Director and Head of Sugar Directorate, previously the Deputy Director Legal Services in charge of Regulatory Affairs at the Agriculture and Food Authority (AFA), having also served Head of Regulations and Compliance at the AFA Sugar Directorate.

He has a wealth of professional and Leadership experience having worked at senior management of various statutory agencies over the last 12 years and practiced law for combined period of 17 years. His experience covers commercial Law, legislative drafting, public policy, regulatory affairs, International and Regional Trade Law, Governance and Leadership and Administrative assignments.

He was part of the team that drafted the National Sugar Policy and most recent a co-opted member of the Presidential Task Force on the Sugar Industry, He has been part of the team that successfully negotiated the Sugar safeguards at the COMESA Council since the year 2014 when he joined the sugar industry. Jude is an Advocate of the High Court of Kenya with an LLB degree from Moi University and a Post Graduate Diploma in Law. He is pursuing a Masters Degree in Public Policy Management at the University of Illinois Springfield.
