Michael Brüderli is the Co-Founder and Chief Client Officer of sproot, a Nairobi- and Zurich-based agtech company digitizing outgrower management for African agribusinesses. sproot enables exporters, processors, and cooperatives to manage thousands of smallholder farmers with precision and transparency. The platform combines WhatsApp-based coordination, digital contract management, and real-time field and yield monitoring to simplify operations and strengthen traceability across supply chains.

Under Michael’s leadership, sproot has become a first mover in digital contract farming across East Africa, working with clients in high-value crops including avocado, coffee, sugarcane, and horticulture. The platform gives agribusinesses full visibility on farmer performance, improves supply reliability, and reduces losses across fragmented supply chains. For smallholders, it delivers clear agronomic guidance, better access to inputs, and a direct path to higher income and inclusion in formal markets.
