Pierre Bruhns, PhDDirector, Unit of Antibodies in Therapy & Pathology at Institut Pasteur
Profile
Pierre Bruhns performed his PhD in Immunology on antibody receptors (FcR) at the Institut Curie, Paris, France in 2001, his post-doc at the Rockefeller University, NY, USA, studying the mechanisms of action of IVIG, and identifying mouse FcgRIV. Since 2004 he joined Institut Pasteur, Paris, France and directs the research unit of Antibodies in Therapy & Pathology, focusing on mechanisms of antibody receptors & repertoires, severe allergy (anaphylaxis), autoimmunity and Ab-mediated immunotherapy. Since 2014 his lab uses droplet microfluidics to analyze antibody-secreting cells for their phenotype and their antibody repertoire in physiology and disease. He is an ERC grant recipient, and inventor on several patents including therapeutic antibodies and vaccines.
