Profile
Brendan holds a PhD in synthetic biology and cancer immunotherapy from the National University of Singapore (NUS) and a B. Eng (1st Class Hons) from Nanyang Technological University (NTU). He is currently a postdoctoral fellow at the NUS Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, Synthetic Biology Translational Research Programme, working towards commercialising the technology that he built during his PhD. Prior to his PhD training, Brendan worked as a Member of Technical Staff in the Defence Medical and Environmental Research Institute @ DSO National Laboratories.
As the current President of BCS, Brendan actively works with public and private partners in the Singaporean Biotech Ecosystem to help them achieve their objectives and increase their reach. He is also passionate about advocating support for researchers and bio-entrepreneurs who hope to translate and commercialise their work.
In his free time, Brendan enjoys traveling, reading and having an active lifestyle with his wife and dog.
