Ken Fujimura is Director of Global Business Development within Strategy and Portfolio Development at Takeda Pharmaceutical, based in Japan. In his current role, he leads search and evaluation of partnering opportunities across multiple therapeutic areas throughout the Asia-Pacific region, while shaping relationships with key regional stakeholders to ensure early access to emerging therapeutic innovation. Ken has 8+ years of experience bridging scientific innovation with strategic partnerships – before joining Takeda, he worked at Business Development & Licensing/Open Innovation at Bayer where he was responsible for research alliance management and innovation scouting within Japan. Further prior to that, he built his career as a research scientist at Sumitomo Pharma, University of California, San Diego and Brigham and Women’s Hospital. He earned his B.Sc and Ph.D in Life Sciences from the University of Tokyo and has authored several publications in top-tier journals in the field of oncology and cell and molecular biology.
