Chuan LeeDirector, CH Biotech Flavor Compound Research Center at CH BiotechSpeaker
Profile
Chuan Lee is the Director of the Flavor Compound Research Center at CH Biotech, where he leads research and development efforts on coffee and tea quality. He is a certified Q Arabica Grader, SCA Q Instructor, and an intermediate-level tea sensory evaluator. His current research focuses on the application of plant biostimulants in coffee, using a metabolomics-based approach to examine volatile aroma compounds, non-volatile precursors, and sensory attributes across different varieties, altitudes, and growth environments.
His work integrates GC-MS analysis, nutrient profiling, and sensory evaluation with field studies that include systematic sampling of coffee fruits, leaves, and soils at multiple elevations. Beyond analytical research, he also explores how biostimulants contribute to sustainable agriculture and circular economy strategies.
In addition to his research activities, Chuan is engaged in internal training and farmer outreach, promoting the practical adoption of biostimulants in coffee cultivation. He also serves as Secretary General of the International Coffee Research Institute (ICRI), supporting international collaboration, academic exchange, and global communications
