Norbert Schmitz has studied business administration at the University of Cologne where he also acquired his PhD. He has worked several years for a leading international management consultancy before establishing Meo Carbon Solutions, a Cologne based consultancy with a strategic focus on sustainability, renewable energy and water. Norbert has an in-depth knowledge of the practical implications of sustainability requirements for companies along the supply chain. The regional focus of his work is Europe, the Americas and Asia. Norbert initiated and developed ISCC, International Sustainability and Carbon Certification as well as GRAS Global Risk Assessment Services. He is Managing Director of 4C Services, a globally leading certification system for coffee and cocoa.
