Katsuhiko MiwaCEO at ChromaJeanSpeaker
Profile
He has been engaged in analysis and purification for over 20 years in the drug discovery research department of one of Japan's largest pharmaceutical companies. He realized a systematization of the chromatography process from the user's perspective, and achieved a visualization of the productivity improvement of research activities. After overseeing the chromatography department as a principal researcher, he founded ChromaJean Co., Ltd. in 2017. He established a unique "chromatography systematization business" by utilizing his reputation and connections in the domestic industry. In 2009, he founded the "Chromatography Users Association" research group in Japan with a friend from a similar industry, and continues to serve as the representative of the organization to this day. The purpose of the establishment is to "show that chromatography professionals in Japan are as valuable a profession as in Europe and the United States." As of 2023, participants are not limited to pharmaceuticals, but are composed of a wide range of industries, including agrochemicals, food, beverages, and chemistry. In addition to equipment and column manufacturers, the number of participants from universities and national institutions is on the rise. It has grown into one of the most active research groups in Japan, with more than 100 people attending each year and holding advanced discussions.
