Profile
Ratmir Derda received his B.Sc. in Physics from Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology in 2001. He completed his Ph.D. in Chemistry from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 2008, under the supervision of Laura L. Kiessling, and postdoctoral training at Harvard University under the supervision of George M. Whitesides and Donald E. Ingber. He joined the University of Alberta in 2011 and in 2017 he was promoted to Associate Professor. Notable awards include the David Gin New Investigator Award (2017), Martha Cook Piper Research Prize (2017), and Rising Star in Chemical Biology (2015).
