Christoph Riechmann is an Executive Director in Frontier Economics’ Energy Practice and heads the Berlin office. He has over 30 years of consulting experience in the gas and wider energy sector, advising clients on regulation, competition, valuation and strategy. Christoph has extensive expertise across the European gas value chain, including gas supply and import contracts, transmission, storage and LNG. He has advised major European energy companies, gas network and storage operators, financial investors and industry associations, including leading gas traders and TSOs, infrastructure owners and funds active in regulated gas assets. He has advised European and national regulators and public authorities, including the European Commission and energy regulators in Germany, Austria, the Netherlands, Switzerland and Luxembourg, on gas market design, network regulation, security of supply and asset valuation. Recent work has focused on gas market design, hydrogen and low-carbon gas rollout, and the transition of energy infrastructure. He also regularly acts as testifying expert in major arbitration and litigation cases.
