PETFORM (Petroleum and Natural Gas Platform Association) was established on 15 September 2000 under the leadership of domestic and foreign companies operating in the fields of crude oil and natural gas exploration, production, processing, storage, transportation and refining and natural gas import and sales. PETFORM, which plays a key role in transferring private sector sensitivities to the competent public institutions in all legal arrangements that Turkey needs in the field of energy, has taken an active role on behalf of the private sector in the formulation of legal legislation required by the energy sector, especially the Natural Gas Market Law and the Turkish Petroleum Law. In PETFORM association, which aims to unite the expectations of all its members in a common pavilion within the framework of a transparent and participatory management approach, there are 2 working groups, namely Exploration - Production and The Gas Group which are affiliated to the Board of Directors. The Exploration- Production Group represents companies operating in domestic and foreign crude oil and natural gas exploration and production activities; and, The Gas Group is the technical working groups in which proposals for solutions to the problems of the companies involved in natural gas import and sales activities are put forward. Decisions taken at regularly held group meetings are led by the approval of the Board of Directors. The Board of Directors, when deemed necessary, makes official visits to the competent public institutions and organizations and presents reports prepared by the working groups in order to share views and suggestions on the developments in the oil and gas market. In addition to this, there are many events bringing together representatives of public and private sector, especially organizations such as 'Natural Gas Trade Forum' and 'Exploration and Production Sector Consultation Meetings', both domestic and abroad.
