Dr. Kalaj is an executive Cell and Gene Therapy industry leader responsible for successful development of cell and gene therapies globally. With more than 20 years of leadership experience Global Development of Cell and Gene therapies, recombinant products, Vaccines and biologics that have contributed in cure and providing new options to patients across varies therapeutic areas such as CNS, oncology, haemophilia, respiratory, vaccines, ophthalmology, infectious diseases and HIV.

His experience has been instrumental in Leading the development of 1st approved gene therapy treatment for Haemophilia B and other Liver disorders such as LPLD (lipoprotein lipase deficiency) across Europe and US. Additionally, his contribution has been instrumental in leading the development and commercialization of Cell Therapies such as CAR-T, CAR-NKs, Dendritic cells etc Globally in serval capacities, leading global development, CMC leaderships, FDA readiness and approvals.

With a MS in Biotechnology, specialisation in Medicine applied to Virology, oncology and Immunology associated to a dual Global Executive MBA from Bocconi, Milan and Rotman, Toronto Business schools, and with numerous years as of executive leadership in Novartis, uniQure, Spark Therapeutics and Lonza he is the CEO and founder of Cellula Therapeutics he leads with passion creativity, authenticity, and compassion Cellula Therapeutics.

Dr. Kalaj is a certified board member and scientific advisor of several IPOs in Biotechnology, Pharma and MedTech industry.
