Profile
Dr. Brent Knox-Holmes studied marine biology at Sheffield University. His PhD resulted in a patent and a Technology Transfer company to develop the BFCC copper-chlorine antibiofouling system which is used in ships and on offshore platforms.
Brent designs and troubleshoots electrolytic antibiofouling and dosing systems. He is involved in the task force working to have copper approved as an Active Substance under the Biocides Regulations.
He has undertaken product developments including subsea applications of antifouling coatings, downhole carbon sequestration, oil/water separation hydrocyclones, compact seawater strainers, catalytic seawater deoxygenation, functionalised filtration media, corrosion and scaling issues. He hold 7 patents.
