Dr. Gregory Zarbis-Papastoitsis is the Chief Process and Manufacturing Officer at Ankyra Therapeutics, overseeing all CMC activities. With extensive experience in biopharmaceutical development, he has successfully advanced multiple therapeutics to clinical development, including an IL12 program at Ankyra, currently in Phase 1/1b trials, a CD137 agonist at Compass Therapeutics, an IL-1 inhibitor at Eleven Biotherapeutics, which reached pivotal clinical studies for Dry Eye Disease and Allergic Conjunctivitis, and an anti-IL6 antibody for treating Macular Edema. Before, at Syntonix Pharmaceuticals, he was responsible for the early clinical development of a long-lasting Factor IX (ALPROLIX®).
Dr. Zarbis-Papastoitsis worked on optimizing the commercial process of HUMIRA® (Abbvie), and on the purification process of ONTAK®, an IL2-fusion protein (Seragen). Prior to that, at Millennium Pharmaceuticals, he was responsible for the early development of an ADC for prostate cancer and was a key contributor in the development of an anti-CCR2 antibody for autoimmune diseases.
He received his PhD in Biology at Binghamton University followed by post-doctoral studies at BU School of Medicine investigating proteases in Alzheimer disease.
