James has led the DSP development team for Fujifilm Biotechnologies, UK since 2019. The team are responsible for all aspects of downstream development for clients’ molecules, working with a diverse range of biologics from mammalian, microbial and VGT feedstocks. They develop and characterise robust, scalable processes for transfer to one of their UK or global manufacturing facilities. James has been at Fujifilm Biotechnologies for 15 years, previously holding other roles which have included technical project leader and chromatography subject matter expert. Prior to his industrial career, James completed postdoctoral research at York and Leeds universities focussing on protein structure and function. James holds a PhD and MSci in Chemistry from Imperial College London.
