Isha Deshpande is an Associate Scientist II in Upstream Process Development at Alexion, AstraZeneca Rare Disease. She is an Upstream Subject Matter Expert in perfusion-based cell culture processes and involved in Process Analytics group with expertise in assay execution for determining product quality within Upstream Group. She is also the Tech-Dev Charter lead for Ultra High Cell Density (UHCD) banking evaluation project. Prior to joining Alexion, she worked as a Co-op in AbbVie, where she was involved in upstream scale-down studies and process comparability evaluation of a bispecific antibody. She obtained her Masters (MS) in Pharmaceutical Sciences from University of Maryland, Baltimore where she worked as a Research Assistant with a focus on researching role of extracellular heme utilization and regulation in bacterial pathogenesis and establishing compound development platform for Gallium-Salophen complex as anti-pseudomonal agents.
