Profile
Prof. Rick Morris is a Distinguished Fellow within the CTO group at Cytiva, where he works on technology, innovation, and strategy, including bioprocess and product innovation in close collaboration with biopharmaceutical and biotechnology companies. He previously served as the Process Intensification technical lead at Cytiva.
Dr. Morris brings more than 35 years of experience across Life Sciences and Industrial businesses, having held numerous senior leadership roles. Prior to Cytiva, he held multiple positions at Pall Corporation, gaining experience across the biopharmaceutical, medical, food and beverage, and laboratory markets. As Senior Vice President of Technology for Pall Biotech, he led open innovation and academic collaborations, including NIIMBL and BioPhorum, and previously served as Senior Vice President of R&D, overseeing single-use technologies and biopharmaceutical development groups with a focus on intensified bioprocessing and gene therapy.
Prof. Morris holds a PhD in Polymer Science and Biotechnology from Leeds Metropolitan University (UK), undergraduate degrees in color chemistry and polymer science from Leeds University (UK), and an Executive MBA from San Diego State University (USA). In September 2025, he was appointed Honorary Professor of Biochemical Engineering at University College London (UCL). He is based in Pensacola, Florida, USA.
