Samuel is involved in promoting and facilitating the application of alternative ionizing radiation technologies to gamma with X-rays. He has a strong focus on the radiation application effects on materials used in single use systems for biopharmaceutical processes. He co-chairs and attends in that field industry groups/associations such as the BPSA and the BioPhorum, making also the links with regulatory bodies (FDA/EMA/PMDA/etc.) with BARDA. He’s currently the Irradiation Panel Chairman. He‘s authoring papers on gamma/X-ray/Ebeam impacts on plastic materials. He is also a Sartorius representative (L2) for the Advanced Therapy Medicinal Products (ATMPs) BioPhorum serving as a collaborative platform to advance ATMP development and manufacturing, including cell, gene, and RNA therapies.
