Profile
Shireen Goh, Ph.D. is an Associate Professor in the Engineering Product Development (EPD) Pillar at the Singapore University of Technology and Design (SUTD). Her primary research interests are in developing key innovations for biopharmaceutical manufacturing using microfluidics and biosensor technology. Her research capabilities lie in understanding and developing microfluidics for high density suspension cultures and also developing devices that can miniaturize and automate long term culture of cells with real-time control and monitoring. She has over 15 years of research experience with multiple inventions in the areas of continuous biomanufacturing and cell therapy. A biopharmaceutical company has described one of her inventions as potentially disruptive. She will be presenting on this work during the talk. She holds a bachelor’s degree from Cornell University in Applied & Engineering Physics and a PhD from Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) in Materials Science & Engineering. She was awarded the BMRC Young Investigator Award in 2014 and the Paul Hartman Prize in Experimental Physics in 2005.
