Uwe Buecheler, has more than 30 years of experience in the Biopharma industry. He is Molecular Biologist (PhD) by training (Heidelberg/Stuttgart) and started his career in industry as research fellow at Boehringer Mannheim (now Roche). He thereafter joined Boehringer Ingelheim where he held different positions in Biopharmaceuticals in CMC Development and Regulatory Affairs, Biopharma Operations, Biological Safety and Quality. He acted as Site head for the Boehringer Ingelheim site in Biberach, Germany and thereafter lead global Biopharmaceuticals Operations including sites in Germany, Austria, USA and China. In 2016 he took over the leadership of the Biopharma Business Unit responsible for the growing contract manufacturing business as well as ensuring supplies of Biopharmaceuticals to Boehringer Ingelheim Human Pharma.

Starting 2022 he acted as a Senior Advisor Biopharmaceuticals to the Boehringer Ingelheim Venture Fund (BIVF) Portfolio companies in CMC development and supply of New Biological Modalities. Since October 2024 he got independent Advisor Biopharmaceuticals for Biopharma Industry. He recently joined the Supervisory Board of Rentschler Biopharma SE and was appointed Non Executive Director of Biophorum Ltd .

Uwe Buecheler is also Chairman of the Biopharma Cluster South Germany.
