Dr. Junu Kim obtained his Bachelor’s degree in applied chemistry from Osaka University before moving to The University of Tokyo in 2018 to pursue his Master’s and Ph.D. studies. He accomplished the Ph.D. study on “Model-based characterization and evaluation of batch and flow syntheses in drug substance manufacturing” (Prof. Sugiyama as the supervisor) in 2023. Subsequently, Dr. Kim became a project researcher in the Sugiyama-Badr Lab at The University of Tokyo. In 2023, Dr. Kim founded Auxilart, a startup company dedicated to accelerating pharmaceutical R&D through digital innovation. His research and professional interests include model development using mechanistic, data-driven, and hybrid approaches. He is particularly passionate about bridging experimental and computational workflows to streamline pharmaceutical and bioprocess development.
