Chang Teck Chung is the Site Quality Head at Takeda Manufacturing Singapore, overseeing quality operations for commercial and clinical biologics drug substance production.
With over 35 years of experience across pharmaceutical, nutrition, petrochemical and biopharmaceutical sectors, he has led Quality, Technical Services, manufacturing, and supply chain functions with MNCs such as Exxon, MSD Singapore greenfield start-up, and GSK. Before Takeda, Teck Chung held regional and site Quality leadership at Abbott and previously led Technical Services and Quality at Pfizer/Wyeth Nutrition Singapore from its 2000 greenfield start-up.
During his tenure at Takeda, Teck Chung undertook a two-and-a-half-year international assignment in Shanghai, where he led the development of the China Quality roadmap and established a dedicated China-for-China corporate Quality function. This initiative supported the Takeda China Business Unit in attaining double-digit annual growth and facilitating 15 NDA product launches over a five-year period.
Teck Chung’s contribution to national workforce development efforts, include being a member on the WSQ Pharmaceuticals Quality (Food Science) Technical Committee under Singapore’s Ministry of Manpower and a SkillsFuture Career Advisor (Manufacturing Sector) with Workforce Singapore.
He holds executive and academic credentials including Leading & Managing Globally from Yale School of Management (USA); an MBA from the University of Tasmania (Australia); a Graduate Diploma in Business Administration from the Singapore Institute of Management; and a Bachelor’s (Honours) in Chemical Engineering from University College Dublin (Ireland).
Teck Chung has recently been awarded the Asia-Pacific Biopharma Excellence Award 2026 - Head of Quality of the Year. This prestigious recognition highlights the outstanding contributions of individual leader advancing biopharma excellence in the Asia-Pacific region.
