Dr Zhang Wei obtained her PhD degree in Chemical and Pharmaceutical Engineering from National University of Singapore (Singapore-MIT-Alliance) in 2011 under the supervision of A/Prof Li Zhi (NUS) and Prof Daniel I.C. Wang (MIT). Dr Zhang joined in Codexis Laboratory Singapore as Staff Scientist after her PhD graduation, where she led a multidisciplinary research team to generate new industrial biocatalysts using directed protein evolution tools for pharmaceutical companies. Dr Zhang joined in Bioprocessing Technology Institute (BTI) of Singapore as Research Scientist in 2013, and currently she is Associate Staff Scientist and heading Downstream Processing Group (DSP). Her team in BTI focuses on purification process development and product characterization for the production of a variety of novel biotherapeutics, including monoclonal antibody, bispecific antibody, viral vector, recombinant protein, vaccine, etc. Her team has very active industrial research collaboration with many biopharmaceutical companies and bioprocessing solution providers worldwide.
