Ashley Kongs is Environmental Sustainability Director for Supply Biologics at AstraZeneca. In this role she leads the design and execution of the product sustainability strategy for AZ’s Biologics Operations organization, tying together efforts across drug development and manufacturing to reduce the environmental impact of the product lifecycle for biopharmaceuticals in key therapy areas including oncology, respiratory & immunology, and vaccines & immunotherapies.

With over a decade of experience in sustainability leadership, Ashley has worked to expand adoption of sustainable technologies and advance product sustainability strategy across multiple industries, including pharmaceuticals, chemicals, materials and biofuels. Prior to joining AstraZeneca, Ashley worked as North American Sustainability Leader at Dow, where she led product sustainability strategy for Dow’s polyurethanes business in the US and Canada.

In addition to her professional work in sustainability, Ashley is a past Board President and current Director-at-Large on the Board of Directors for Green Living Science, a non-profit organization that provides environmental education to K-12 students, conservation-focused community engagement, and environmental consulting services in Detroit. She holds a BA in International Studies from American University and an MBA and certificate in Responsible Management from the George Washington University School of Business, both in Washington, DC.
