Daniela Barrios is a Ph.D. candidate in the Department of Bioengineering at Rice University. She earned her BS in Biomedical Engineering from The University of Texas at Austin in 2018. Her research focus is highly interdisciplinary and combines principles and tools from engineering and science to decipher and manipulate cellular quality control mechanisms involved in the production of secretory proteins. Current research interests are centered on reprogramming mammalian cells for the development of cell-based therapies and biomanufacturing.
