Elizabeth H. Scheideman PhD.Staff Scientist, Vaccine Production Program, VRC, NIAID, at NIHSpeaker
Profile
I am a Staff Scientist in the Cell Line Development Group at the Vaccine Production Program where I have been for four years. Our group develops manufacturing cell lines for monoclonal antibodies and other recombinant proteins to support early phase clinical studies. Previously, I obtained my PhD in Organic Chemistry from Yale University studying novel beta-peptide inhibitors of the p53-hDM2 and p53-hDMX interactions. I also completed work as a Postdoctoral Associate/Fellow in the Department of Genetics at Yale University developing genetic screening techniques to identify small, artificial transmembrane proteins that downregulate the expression of the HIV-1 coreceptor CCR5 to inhibit HIV-1 infection.
