Hooman is leading the omics initiative at Biogen, an effort to leverage multiomics to build deep understanding of cells and use it to guide rational, efficient cell line engineering and/or process development. He was previously a postdoctoral researcher in the Systems Biochemistry and Cell Engineering lab of Dr. Nathan Lewis at UC San Diego where his research resulted in the construction of the consensus genome-scale metabolic model of CHO cells and the identification of a genetic engineering strategy to eliminate lactate production in CHO and HEK cells.
