Jack Crawford is the founding CEO of Demeetra, where he focuses on turning advanced gene-editing technologies into practical tools that empower customers to achieve more. He builds and leads high-performance teams, ensuring Demeetra is staffed with people who can thrive in a culture of excellence. Jack’s core strengths are assessing markets, deciding when to pivot or expand, and ensuring the company continues to grow in value and purpose. He is deeply involved in in-licensing or inventing new technologies, and in translating complex data into actionable IP strategy, product development decisions, and clear, effective marketing materials.

Before Demeetra, Jack served as CEO of Hera BioLabs, where he led the company to develop best-in-class preclinical oncology models. Earlier, as VP of Business Development at Transposagen, he helped establish the commercial foundation for the piggyBac transposase, now widely used across research and industry. Jack holds a Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry from Virginia Tech and a master’s in Biotechnology from the University of Pennsylvania.
