Magdi Elsallab is the Director of the Process Development Laboratory within the Cellular Immunotherapy Program at Mass General Cancer Center. He earned his MD and PhD from Charité – Universitätsmedizin Berlin, where his research focused on regenerative therapies.
Dr. Elsallab leads a translational platform that bridges cutting-edge laboratory discoveries with clinical applications. His team specializes in developing, optimizing, and scaling manufacturing processes for chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) T cells and other advanced cellular immunotherapies, ensuring they meet rigorous regulatory and quality standards for clinical trials.
Beyond process development, his lab pioneers innovative strategies to enhance manufacturing capacity, reduce costs, improve product quality, and strengthen safety measures—advancing the next generation of cell-based therapies.
