Nuno Pinto has been at Merck & Co., Inc. for over 6 years. At first, as post doc fellow, working on perfusion cell culture with emphasis on cell retention device optimization. Currently, Nuno is leading downstream process and automation efforts to develop robust integrated continuous bioprocesses and to ultimately push these processes forward into manufacturing. Nuno graduated with his Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering from University of Maryland, Baltimore County, where he worked on the protein purification under Dr. Douglas Frey. He also holds a B.S. in Chemical Engineering from University of Porto
