Ryan is a Technical Development Principal Scientist at Genentech in South San Francisco specializing in cell culture media development. Prior to joining Genentech in 2020, Ryan was an ORISE Research Fellow in the Department of Product Quality Research at the US FDA in Silver Spring, MD in 2018-2019, and received his PhD in chemical engineering from the University of Massachusetts-Lowell under Seongyu Yoon where he focused on the impact of trace metal variability on CHO culture performance.
