Semsi Ensari is leading the Process Technology and Materials Development team at Kite Pharma to develop innovative and off-the-shelf technologies and materials for the manufacturing of next-generation cell therapy products. Prior to joining Kite, Semsi held positions with increasing responsibilities in Research, Process Development, and Manufacturing at Schering-Plough, Ambrx, and Genentech. Over the course of 20 years of service, Semsi has a proven track record in successfully developing, implementing and maintaining processes to produce biologics and cell therapies. Semsi holds a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering from Bogazici University in Turkey and, a master’s, and Ph.D. in Biochemical Engineering from the University of California, Irvine.
