Gearóid Duane holds a B.E. and Ph.D from the School of Chemical and Bioprocess Engineering, University College Dublin. His PhD focussed on mathematical modelling of microbial fermentation. Gearóid moved from academia to industry in 2013 taking roles of increasing technical responsibility and scope over the years. He is currently Senior Principal Scientist within the Manufacturing Science & Technology Upstream team in Bristol Myers Squibb, Cruiserath Biologics. Gearóid is upstream focussed with extensive experience across monoclonal antibody and fusion protein processes, including process development, PAT implementation, data analytics, process modelling, new product introduction, commercial support and process scale up/down.
