Gearóid Duane earned his B.E. and Ph.D. in Chemical and Bioprocess Engineering from University College Dublin, where his doctoral research focused on mathematical modelling of microbial fermentation.
Since moving from academia to industry in 2013, Gearóid has held roles of increasing technical responsibility, contributing to the development and commercialisation of complex biologics. He currently serves as Senior Principal Scientist within the Manufacturing Science & Technology Pipeline, Commercialisation and Lifecycle team at Bristol Myers Squibb, Cruiserath Biologics.
Specialising in upstream processes, Gearóid brings extensive experience across monoclonal antibody and fusion protein platforms. His expertise spans process development, PAT implementation, data analytics, modelling, new product introduction, and scale-up/down strategies.
Today, Gearóid leads initiatives to bridge development and manufacturing, enabling rapid, right-first-time scale-up and commercialisation of innovative therapies across multiple modalities in the BMS pipeline.
