Jose Escandell is a Principal Scientist at iBET’s Animal Cell Technology Unit. His research focuses on streamlining cell line development and optimizing biologics production systems through cell engineering approaches, with a particular emphasis on recombinant adeno-associated virus and antibody production platforms. He holds a doctoral degree in pharmacology (2008) and has postdoctoral experience in the University of Oxford and Instituto Gulbenkian de Ciência (Lisbon, Portugal) in the areas of drug discovery, DNA repair and cancer biology. With expertise in omics analysis, cell engineering, and high-throughput screening, he has published 24 papers, participated in over 50 scientific meetings, and holds 2000+ citations.
