Dr. Thomas Perroud is the Global Head of R&D for Personalized Medicine at Lonza, where he leads the design and development of the Cocoon® Platform, an automated, closed, and flexible system enabling decentralized cell therapy manufacturing. Under his leadership, the Cocoon® Platform has supported treatment of over 100 clinical patients, with more than 100 instruments deployed globally and thousands of manufacturing runs successfully completed. With over 20 years of experience spanning diagnostics, life sciences, and pharma, Dr. Perroud has driven innovation in automation, digital solutions, and integrated workflows that address scalability, consistency, and global access in advanced therapies. He holds a Ph.D. in Physical Chemistry from Stanford University and is an inventor on a dozen patents.
