Dr. Anette Brass started as a student of Molecular Biology and Biochemistry at the University of Hamburg, Germany, where her interest in Immunology was raised. She followed up on this interest with doctoral studies investigating receptors in the innate immune system. After obtaining her PhD she moved to Sweden shifting focus to T cell immunology during her postdoctoral studies at the Karolinska Institute where she was working with therapeutic DNA vaccines for HBV and HCV.
Anette left academia and joined the Biotech start-up Anocca in 2014, where she led a number of key R&D programmes central to the development of the company R&D platform. In 2019 Anette took the role of Head of Process Development and in that role contributed to Anocca's transition into a clinical stage company, having deployed Europe's first-even non-viral gene edited T cell therapy with in-house manufacture
