Jelmer Willems, PhD is a Senior Scientist, leading the Vector Development department at VectorY Therapeutics where he contributes to the development and advancement of innovative gene therapy technologies. He has extensive experience in molecular biology, viral vector design, AAV manufacturing and product characterization.

Collaborating across the CMC organization, his work focusses on the engineering of highly genetically stable recombinant baculovirus seeds, their integration with VectorY’s insect cell based AAV manufacturing platform and in-depth product characterization. His work aims to enable excellent product quality, consistency and scale-up which support both the early and clinical development of the VectorY’s pipeline products.
