Prof. Maroun Khoury is a Full Professor at the Faculty of Medicine, Universidad de los Andes (Chile), Executive Director of the IMPACT Center for Interventional Medicine for Precision and Cellular Therapy (ANID/Basal), CSO of Cells for Cells (Chile) and co-founder and CSO of EVast BIO (USA).
With over 20 years in translational cell and gene therapy, Prof. Khoury's group has achieved four first-in-human milestones in regenerative therapy for knee osteoarthritis most notably administering the world's first MSC-derived extracellular vesicle (exosome) therapy to a patient in 2022, and conducting the first formal Phase I clinical trial of UC-MSC exosomes (EXO-OA01, NCT06431152).
