Regine Heilbronn is Co-founder and CEO of EpiBlok Therapeutics GmbH at Bayer Co.Lab Berlin developing a gene therapy for focal epilepsy. Regine looks back to 30+ years of research on AAV vector technology, starting with Nobel Laurate Harald zur Hausen in Heidelberg transitioning to the Max-Planck-Institute for Biochemistry in Martinsried as Heisenberg-Scholar, to Full Professor of Clinical and Experimental Virology and Director of the Institute of Virology at Charité in Berlin, Germany.

Prof. Heilbronn studied Medicine in Düsseldorf, Glasgow, UK, and Freiburg i.Br. and gained an Executive MBA from the European School of Management and Technology in Berlin.
